Audio Description
Inclusion is made possible through accessibility services
To ensure that a blind, hearing-impaired, or visually-impaired audience can also access audiovisual media, an accessible version is required, i.e. an audio description (AD) for blind and visually-impaired people, as well as subtitles for hearing-impaired people (SDH).
We create accessible versions of films and series in accordance with the guidelines of the German Federal Film Board (FFA).
The Accessibility Guidelines have been in effect since May 1, 2013 and require that all films receiving production support and/or distribution support from the FFA must be made accessible. These guidelines correspond to the accessibility guidelines of the German Federal Film Fund (DFFF), which have been in effect since January 1, 2013.
We deliver the finished files for DCP, app, and home entertainment formats (TV | DVD | BD) as requested.
In particular, we can also deliver files for the GRETA accessibility app from Greta & Starks, which makes audio descriptions and subtitles in any movie theater accessible for any screening, and all from the user’s own smartphone. This way, you can offer your viewers “cinema for everyone”.
A blind author is always involved in the creation of all our audio descriptions, from writing the text to directing the recording and doing the sound recording. This enables us to meet the highest accessibility standards.
The recordings for the audio description take place in our in-house studio. This enables us to supervise the entire production intensively and guarantee high-quality results.

- Tonrestaurierung: De-Click, De-Crackle, Denoise, De-Hum Dynamik-Nachbearbeitung (R128), Mischung. Mögliche Ausgangsformate: Lichtton 35mm und 16mm, Magnetton (Commag, Sepmag) 35mm, 17,5mm und 16mm, diverse MAZ-Formate und digitale Files.
- Mastering: Erstellung aller benötigen Deliveries wie DCDM, DCP (verschlüsselt oder unverschlüsselt), Masterfiles (z.B. Prores 4444), Beleg- und Archivexemplare für Filmförderung und Bundesarchiv.
